What to compare before choosing a WoW realm
Match the expansion and client
Start with the era you want to play, then confirm the exact client version in the realm documentation. A WotLK 3.3.5 private server uses a particular client, but its available content may follow a separate progression plan. Do not assume that an expansion label means every raid is open. Check the realm instructions before downloading a client or changing connection settings, especially when several realms share one website.
Understand progression and realm rules
A progressive WoW server can unlock levels, raids or expansion content over time. Look for a published schedule and recent updates to understand its current stage. Compare XP and reputation rates, PvE or PvP rules, faction restrictions and any custom systems. The term blizzlike describes an aim to resemble the original game, but it does not tell you which conveniences or balancing changes a realm has made.
Check support for your group size
Solo WoW private servers may offer scaled encounters, companion bots or other changes that make some group content accessible alone. These systems are different, so read what each one covers instead of assuming every dungeon or raid is soloable. For traditional group play, check community language, raid schedules and recruitment discussions. Choose a realm whose stated features and community routines fit how much time you want to spend playing.
